Lady in Yellow
How fabulous does our First Lady look arriving in London? She's such a fashionista and I LOVE it.

The Remains of Little J
In this weeks Gossip Girl recap, Nate is compared to a "happy-go-lucky golden retriever" and Chuck is a "fun but dangerous pit bull." I couldn't think of anything more appropriate.
Draper stripe
I painted my bedroom dark grey after seeing this photo from Dwell. I really want the striped sheets but can't afford the $300 price tag. Damn this economy.

Bahahahaha
Mr. Ilarijs Squirrel just started following me on Twitter. Here are pictures from their blog.
I love nutty people. No pun intended.

Streetstyle
I love looking at streetstyle blogs, the biggie's being the Sartorialist and Garance Dore. But, Sea of Shoes has led me to a new and fantastic one called Nast Magazine. It's French so you know it's going to be full of chic women.

Oh no.
This morning I awoke to the sound of Margot crunching on something. That something happened to be my retainer. As in the pink and sparkly retainer I had made when my braces were taken off when I was about 14. Can you even get those things made again??!!
My mom's response: "This is just the beginning. They are deadly and very expensive."
What a great way to start a day.

Keep Calm and Carry on
My lovely Karen has introduced me to countless strange and wonderful things that I will forever cherish and adore. One of them being the story of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor.
Their story is a very bizarre and quite addicting one (he gave up his right to the thrown to marry a 2-time divorcee from America that supposedly had an affair with a gay man in the 1950's, just to name a few). So when I ran across this story I was suddenly intrigued to start Dancing with the Devil again.
I started it a year or so ago but only got a few chapters into it (my attention span to books isn't too great). But after hearing about Madonna playing Wally I've got to pick it up again and check out some more. Who doesn't love scandalous stories about the Royals and WASP's? And who better to play Wallis Simpson than Madonna??

Running with scissors
Contemporary Portuguese illustrator Cristiana Couceiro hates pixels and instead loves glue scissors, old magazines and pictograms. And now I'm totally obsessed with his work.

Hells Angels
I've always been intrigued by motorcycles. When a big gang of Harley's pass me I always get really excited so I can watch them all. I really don't know why I'm like this, I just find them mysterious. I loved looking through these LIFE photos of the Hells Angles back in the 60's. What a group of bad-asses.
Bonjour les amis
I can't get over how chic this little Parisian girl is. Her little black coat and quilted Chanel bag... je suis jaloux.

Tea for two, two for tea.
I'm so glad that my friends are just as excited about this as I am. I think I'm going to have to order HBO for April.

Dog hat
I wonder if Margot's long, floppy ears would fit through those holes?
Hat found here.

Eating my words.
So after making fun of Twitter... I just signed up for an account.
I read where blogs were like so 2 years ago and Twitter is like so now.
Whatever. I just wanted to get a cool username while I still could. You know, before everything gets taken and you have to get one with numbers in it? I hate that.

Gossip Girl recap
New York Magazine does a fantastic recap of GG episodes every week. The witty commentary along with their "reality index" is amazing and utterly entertaining. It just reinforces that Gossip Girl truly is the best show ever. EVER.

Meow
Remember Kenley from Season 5 of Project Runway? Well, apparently she assaulted her ex with her cat. Yeah, her cat. She's been charged with six crimes and it's still unclear as to when she'll get out of jail.
Geez.

Shaken, not stirred.
Extreme quilting
Last night I was fortunate enough to get 2 free tickets to the sold out Ryan Adams show. It was a-mazing. I've been a fan for years but have never seen him play. The Cardinals sounded great, Ryan's voice was impeccable and the array of songs was perfect.
It was a really fun show that kept me on my toes, waiting for what was coming next. When he played "Magnolia Mountain" for his encore it absolutely made my night.

I love Jack White like a little brother.
"If one of the bands working here says, 'Jack, there's a great band that played at the End on Friday night, you should check these guys out,' Saturday morning, they can come to Third Man Studios and we can cut a couple of songs. They can come back to the photo studio and we can take a photo of them. We can cut the acetate and run it down the block, and within three weeks, we can have a thousand copies of a 45 that they can sell at shows."
From the Tennessean.

Blog love gossip
Scott Schuman (aka the Sartorialist) and Garance Doré are a couple! I wonder if they dress up and take photos of each other?

Third Man Records
Speaking of Third Man Records... where is this "downtown Nashville" place??
Update: Found it thanks to Nashville Cream.
The Dead Weather
For the love of Jack White, he's got a new band! God Bless America.
Meet The Dead Weather. Compiled of Jack White, Alison Mosshart of The Kills (a-mazing), Jack Lawrence an East Nashvillian and a Raconteur, and Dean Fertita of the Queens of Stone Age.
"The five-song set the Dead Weather performed in the small space at the rear of the offices had a garage-blues feel, more physical than the recordings. 'Tonight was the first time I played drums on stage since I was a teenager,' Jack White said in an interview after the show. 'I wanted to look at the music from a new angle, and it gets me back to the structure of how songs are created.” From the NYTimes article.
Supposedly Martina McBride was there which baffles me. How does she get to go to cool shit like that? Meg was there too, "smiling."
