Postcard collecting

I'm always drawn to these types of vintage postcards at antique stores.

I always rummage through them and end up thinking, "What would I do with these?" And then I would scurry on and admire Staffordshire Spaniels.


I was immediately drawn to this photo initially because of the wall color. I've never been a big fan of turquoise but I felt like it worked well here.

Then I read the caption and learned that the artwork is actually collaged postcards. A chic way to showcase an eclectic collection of vintage cards if you ask me. Love the lamps too.

Paint it black

When in doubt, paint it black.


I've always worn a lot of black but the idea of a black interior sounds harsh yet they don't look harsh at all.


I always think of my friends mom who painted everything black. He joked that if him and his brothers stood still long enough she'd paint them black too.


I'm painting something black this weekend.

I've been thinking about my door... wreath.

My best friend emailed me this link earlier today. I thought it was a cute idea but little did I know how adorable it would turn out!

It's so cute! I want to make one now. Hobby Lobby even has flowers and greenery 50% off this week. Perfect timing.

For the birds

When I started this blog back in October I did a post on feather headbands. Well, I finally got around to making my headband. I'm pretty proud of it since it cost under $5 to make. Here's the feather-ed one next to a plain one.


This shop has some serious ones, the best ones I've found online. Oh and of course here. Those are fantastic but a little out of my price range.


I'd like to make one like this but I'm afraid I'd look ridiculous with it on.
