Let's go

I feel inspired going into 2010.

I really want to start doing new things and changing the way I live life. I've got a new job, I'm young and healthy. It's time to do new things. I think I take living in Nashville for granted, who knows what I could discover in my hometown?

If you've never listened to Yeasayer's 2080, get ready to be enlightened...

Pour le flight

Traveling is becoming such a pain thanks to the idiot terrorists in the world. Arriving to the airport 3 hours before departing is starting to sound customary rather than than abnormally early.

This is a travel essential for any lady that thrives on a bag full of gels and liquids.

Overdue

I've been out of the blogosphere as of late. Christmas seemed to sneak up and then I was off to Paris for the New Year. But I couldn't begin my biscuit blog in 2010 without listing favorite albums of 09' first...

My taste for music keeps evolving and my appreciation keeps growing (I guess that's what's suppose to happen the older one gets.) 2009 brought me closer to hip hop and electronic than my usual indie rock likings. Kid Cudi and Jay-Z are some of my top plays in iTunes. I can't get enough of the likes of Ratatat and MSTRKRFT but I still dig some laid back Grizzly Bear every once and a while.

So, in no particular order...

Phoenix, Wolfgang Amadeus
(Could there be a catchier song than 1901?)
Grizzly Bear, Veckatimest
The Dead Weather, Horehound
(Oh come on, like I could make a list and not include one of Jack's bands.)

Jay-Z, Blueprint 3
Dirty Projectors, Bitte Orca
Passion Pit, Manners
Animal Collective, Merriweather Post Pavillion
Kid Cudi, Man on the Moon
MSTRKRFT, Fist of Gold
(Listen to
Heartbreaker and it will be in your head for days.)
BlakRoc, BlakRoc

So let's hear it for New York...

Olivia Palermo

She may play a biatch on The City but there's no denying Olivia Palermo's style. From her luscious locks to her perfectly tanned legs (i.e. below) the girl always looks good. Loving the barrel curls these days, I'm slowly starting to leave my straightener behind for a curling iron.

It's been reported that she was the real-life inspiration for Blair Waldorf but I'm wondering if that was started just because of her undeniable resemblance of Leighton Meester.

Habitually Chic has a great collection of Olivia Palermo photos, here.

Victoria Beckham looks like an international spy in this black leather trench by Loewe. I watched Casino Royale for what felt like the 10th time the other night, love that movie. The life of a glamorized spy, who wouldn't want that?
