Thursday night Last Call with Carson Daly had Robert Francis on. I was blown away. I literally wrote his name down to remind myself to go to Grimeys and buy his album. I'm usually not a big fan of singer/songwriter/folky stuff but this struck a chord with me. The first song is fantastic, "One By One." He's got a M. Ward/Conor Oberst/Jeff Buckley sound. It starts at about 2:00.

Puppy love

I hope my little Margot is going through a puppy stage because she's completely nuts right now. For instance, this is her "Crazy Eye" look because she's obviously about to either (a) pounce on me, (b) swat at me with her furry paw, or (c) make a weird noise and bite at the air/comforter/whatever is close enough to chew on.

My mom is sending her to Puppy Kindergarten because she's so undisciplined (if that's even a word). I know it's my fault because I'm so passive about things, I let her get away with way too much. But how could anyone get mad at this face?

The Flaming Lips are playing Vanderbilt's annual Rites of Spring this April. Yoshimi Battles Pink Robots will always be one of those albums that takes me back to the fun, carefree years of college. It will be great to finally see this band live.
